The 2020 Caribbean Poker Party (CPP) has already crowned several high-profile champions over the week, including Pascal Lefrancois’ big win in the $25k High Roller this Wednesday for a staggering $585,175.

Last night, several more winners were crowned in the festival, with CPP #05 Heads Up with a buy-in of $1,050 and a guarantee of $100k as one of the two flagship events of the night. A field of 102 entrants had already been whittled down to its final 16 when the final day kicked off.

Among them were stars such as Dominik Nitsche and Georgios Zisimopoulos, but both of them fell in the round of 8, each taking home $4,080 for their efforts.

Ultimately, it was Austria’s Hannes Speiser (lead photo) taking on Italy’s Luigi Shehadeh and the pair agreed to a deal, leaving each player about $24k richer in the process. $1k was left to play for and it would be Speiser ultimately taking the crown and the fifth event of the series.

Besides the conclusion of the two-day heads-up tournament, a single-day PLO event with a chunky buy-in of $3,200 saw cards hit the digital felt as well. CPP #06 Pot-Limit Omaha with a guarantee of $150k drew 51 entrants to create a total prize pool of $153,000, just inching past its guarantee.

Nine players would finish in the money, which left players such as Yuri Dzivielevski (11th) and Jens Lakemeier (14th) just shy of a cash. A heads-up showdown between two Brits in Gavin Cochrane and Philipp Mighall resulted in a win for the former, who received $49.561 for winning the one-day event.
